Stephanie is getting married next week. At first I didn't really feel excited since she has two kids with the man she's marrying. It seems pointless for them to get married since they'll just be going back to the same life. But after attending her wedding shower I understand a little better. It's an event most girls looks forward to all their lives, and she is just as giddy and excited as a virgin bride would be. Although they'll go back to the same life, she'll now be able to say that she is "Mrs. So-and-so" and she'll be able to call him "husband". They are bound together by a bond that no one can (well, shouldn't be able to) interfere with. They are each other's, forever.

Yeah, I've never thought about my own wedding. And, you know... I don't think I'm going to start now. That seems like a bridge we'll cross if we get to it.

But, yeah. Seeing my cousins again has renewed in me a vigor I'd lost. They helped me remember the GOOD things from my childhood I often overlook. And looking at the good things lets me know that it's isn't the end of the world. If I work harder at getting what I want things can eventually be great for me, too.
